What is PMD: Outlaws?

Your Characters

Introduction

Your Pokemon characters are your representation within the world of PMD Outlaws and their application is the reference of them for everyone to use, where you will track their progress, and keep track of their inventory. All members start with 2 characters for free. You can have 2 Basic Pokemon, 1 Basic and 1 First Stage, or forgo having basic Pokemon and have 1 Second Stage. Eggs and Pokemon under the age of 10 are not allowed. Sadly, none of the Factions would be too keen on taking in literal children and sending them into dangerous situations.Starting Pokemon characters, and thus the member that owns them, start with 200 Auran each to help new members start out. How they came to have this 200 Auran when joining is up to you. Each additional character you submit going forwards will also give you a flat 200 Auran once they are accepted. When designing your Pokemon, they must have a Disciple Mark chosen and displayed. Lawmon uses the normal five (Courage, Empathy, Patience, Purity, Ambition), while Outlaws use the modified Veracity icon of their chosen Faction. The Mark may be displayed in however manner you wish, whether on clothing or an accessory, be creative.Adding on to that, the chosen Mark does not have to represent the Pokemon and a Pokemon does not have to represent their chosen Mark. In fact, it could be an ironic choice. Some choose to have a Mark for the status, some to disguise themselves. Feel free to be creative in their reasoning.Speaking of clothing, you are free to dress your Pokemon characters however you wish. You can give them a dark, mysterious cloak or have them wear glasses and a top hat, the sky's the limit- so long as it's not breaking the PG-16 barrier.

Restricted Pokemon

You cannot, for any reason, start with any Legendary or Mythical Pokemon. In Tremel, they are seen as gods and respectively, they are never seen outside of dreams and visions. Plus Arceus doesn't like it when they play favorites, their favorite table is still broken from Groudon and Kyogre fighting over a bet.For a detailed list of restricted Pokemon, check this page.

Designing Your Character

As you design your Pokemon, do not stray from their original physiology too much. Some interpretations and design tweaks are allowed but drastic changes are not acceptable, especially if it cannot be determined what Pokemon they are. These are your starting Pokemon, please be reasonable- you may be more creative with later Pokemon however, as Fusion’s and Delta’s will be available with purchase from the shops.Shiny Pokemon, Melanism, and Albinism are allowed as are recolorings within reason.
An Eevee with a golden fur coat and beige highlights is reasonable, an Eevee with a green coat and white highlights is not. Make note that Shiny and recolored Pokemon are not common- not so rare that they're a spectacle but they will stand out in a crowd.
For more details on design guidelines, check this page.Anthropomorphism, making Pokemon human-like, is not allowed. Quadruped Pokemon may walk on two legs and all Pokemon may be drawn and/or interpreted in a more humanoid form but nothing outside human-like Pokemon may be drawn as true humanoids.

Moves, Abilities, Nature/Characteristic

Pokemon all start with a maximum of four moves, an Ability, and a Nature and Characteristic. The Ability must be one the chosen Pokemon species can have, no custom abilities and no abilities from other Pokemon. The moveset cannot start with any TM, HM, or Move Tutor moves but Egg moves are allowed. All Pokemon use their most up-to-date moveset. For example, if a Pokemon is available in a Generation 9 game (as of January 2023), you use its moveset from there. If they are not available in a Generation 9 game, you use the next most recent generation.Outside this, the Move Coach purchase allows the addition of a TM/HM/Move Tutor/Transfer move and allows the moveset to be changed to whatever other moves the Pokemon can learn if you wish.Future Pokemon may be obtained through purchasing a number of items depending on what you want. The Outlaw Poster for a new Outlaw or a Guild Badge for a new Lawmon.

Other Character Options

Fusion Orbs, Delta Shards, and Mage Certificates are purchasable/activity rewards that allow a Member to create or change a Pokemon character into a Modified Pokemon. For more information, see this page.If one wishes to create a Fusion, the Pokemon with the highest evolution stage will determine what items are needed. A Basic Pokemon will only need an Outlaw Poster or Guild Badge along with the Fusion Orb and any needed Evolution Tokens. Character restrictions apply all the same with Fusions.Delta Pokemon are Pokemon that have new typing entirely. With the item used, a Pokemon can have a new type added if mono-type, change a type if dual-type, or replace their only typing if they are mono-type.

Teams

Firstly and importantly, all Pokemon must be part of a team to participate. The Drawn Team Application and Written Team Application are where you place Pokemon into teams. We ask that you do not change the layout or colors of the Drawn app or the layout of the Written app.Secondly, your Pokemon are not tethered to the team they're on. If at any time, for any reason, you wish for a character to change Teams, they can without any fee incurred if within the same Faction. If you want them to change entire factions, however, it does require an item purchase from the shop. You have the option of making your team a spy team. If you choose to do this, your team will have their original faction allegiance, while working to sabotage an opposing faction. Lawmon Teams cannot spy on other Lawmon, and Outlaw Teams cannot spy on other Outlaws. Any points earned in a Mission or Event will be deducted from the Faction your Team is spying on, and subsequently added to the points for the Faction your Team is spying for.Next, with a purchase of the Faction Change Token, a single Pokemon can change Faction but there must be art or a story of why and how this happens, it's not everyday a Lawmon becomes an Outlaw or an Outlaw turning a new leaf and becoming a Lawmon. Or even just switching which on their side they work with! Finally, as Teams are open in how Pokemon can leave and join at any time, from any Member except the founding member of the Team, Teams can be a mix of collaborators whenever wanted, just make sure to circle the collaborator icon on the top left on the Drawn Application or write it out on the Written Application and to credit who is in the Team in the description of either Application.

Inventory & Currency

All Members have a shared inventory of Items and Auran, the group’s currency, between all Characters. It is up to you to keep track of how much of what your Pokemon have. You may do so on their app or through other means, such as a master spreadsheet or an organizer. You may make a copy of this template or make your own tracker sheet if so desired.Auran is primarily earned through submitting artwork and literature to PMD-Outlaws but completing Missions and Events also nets rewards as well. For more information on Auran, Inventories, and Rewards, see this page.Items may be bought from the stores of either side (Lawmon and Outlaw). Auran speaks louder than one's status, just don’t make too much of a fuss or something bad might happen...Items may also be received upon completion of a Mission or Event and depending on the ending Tier of the Faction, Special Items may be up for grabs as well.

Mission Structure

Here in PMD-Outlaws, the primary interaction between your Pokemon characters and the teams they’re on within the group is through Missions and Events. All submissions towards a Mission adds points to your Factions total in said Mission or Event. The more points, the better for your Faction.Every Mission completed, your Pokemon earns a Medal. This is an individual earning per Pokemon that participates! A number of Medals is needed to unlock certain items and certain Medals earned in some missions also unlock special items time to time!Missions and Events can be done late but be warned, the Pokemon and teams involved will not be eligible for bonus rewards and the normal Medals received. They at most, can only receive a Bronze Medal, which for every 2 is worth a single regular Medal. The number of Medals a Team earns collectively through the various members will raise the rank of the Team. Pokemon on these teams will have their rewards affected by their rank when participating in Missions and Events:Base Rank - 3 Medals or lower. 1x of Auran rewards per Mission/Event
1st Rank - 4 to 10 Medals. 1.5x of Auran rewards per Mission/Event
2nd Rank - 11 to 20 Medals. 2x Auran rewards per Mission/Event
3rd Rank - 21 to 30 Medals. 2.5x Auran rewards per Mission/Event
4th Rank - 31 Medals or more. 3x Auran rewards per Mission/Event
Missions and Events are rewarded based on the Tier each Faction ends in per Mission or Event, starting at Tier 1 and ending at Tier 4. Work hard with your fellow Faction members to push the Faction to Tier 4 for the best rewards and the best outcome in the story. For all Missions and non-Random Events, there is no true losing Faction, only different outcomes depending on the Tier achieved by each Faction. If a tie by all or most of them, outcomes will be determined by the amount of points each Faction earned total for that Mission/Event.

Factions

There are 4 Major Factions to play in: the Trade Guild, the Emerald Enforcers, the Blue-Spirit Outlaws, and the Lexin Wayfarers. You can have a Pokemon in each Faction or stick with one and see where the story leads with them- and even influence them through the many Missions and Events.Your stories in Missions and Events play a big part in the overall plot and where you rank your storytelling and art skills, via the icons to the right of the Mark, will determine how seriously your works will be taken. Bronze for Amateur, Silver for Intermediate, and Gold for Expert. These can be changed at any time if you feel that your skills have been honed.Your Pokemon do not have to be in their Faction for an honest reason. Saboteurs and spies are rife in each and every one of them. Your Pokemon can be one of these few, but there are consequences if they’re ever found out.
